2009 Concours d'Elegance

The 2009 Concours d'Elegance celebrates 37 years of wooden boat shows at Lake Tahoe. Mark your calendars now !

June 20 & 21, 2009 at Sierra Boat Company, Carnelian Bay, California

Sponsored by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, the 37th annual Concours d'Elegance will take place at Sierra Boat Co., Carnelian Bay, California, June 20 & 21, 2009. This two day in-the-water extravaganza focuses on wooden boats dating from the turn of the century and typically attracts over 100 of the finest, meticulously maintained water craft from around the world. An internationally acclaimed event, the show draws over 5,000 people to Tahoe's north shore area over the weekend.

The 2009 Concours will feature blond deck boats. Manufactured from the post war 40's and into the late 50's, Blond Deck Boats featured a two-tone theme with red stained mahogany contrasted with blond mahogany. This style was common on both Chris Craft and Century runabouts, the most common examples being the Chris Craft Rivera's and Capri's. Previous featured boats or "Mark Class" have included Chris Craft, Century,Hacker, Gar Wood and Riva boats in addition to boats from the 20's 30's and 40's. In addition to the two day show, the Yacht Club sponsors various events during its "Tahoe Wooden Boat Week." Additional information on these and other Yacht Club events can be found at the Yacht Club's web site at www.laketahoeconcours.com or by contacting the TYC Foundation Coordinator, Danny Pavel, at (530) 581-4700.
