CF9775HM, 1976, Monte Carlo Offshorer, Superfast, 27',Twin 310 Crusader, $65,000
The Offshorer Superfast was a collaborative effort between Carlo Riva, hull designer Bob Hobbs and Crusader Engine's Cal Connell. After selling the Riva yard in the late 60's, Carlo Riva was interested in developing new boat projects. His friend Cal Connell introduces him to hull designer Bob Hobbs, who has been successful in designing multi-step hulls. The prototype hulls were built and tested in Florida and the deck designs were done in Italy. Besides the multi-step hull, Cal Connell designed a unique tandem engine arrangement which keeps the weight centered and low in the hull. This example is hull 19 out of only 39 built between 1975 and 1977. The design was later enlarged to 30' and over 300 were built. The original 27' version is considered by many to be the best version. We imported this boat 4 years ago and have completely overhauled the engines. Currently it has less than 20 hours since overhaul. It will run at 60 MPH at sea level and is one of the best riding boats I have ever been in. This boat has a great layout with a large cockpit, generous rear lounging area and the roomy vee-birth area. It is equipped with a fold down ladder in the stern and a slip in ski pole.
